Building houses in Indonesia

Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago with 1300 islands spread across hundreds of kilometres. It is the home for over 234 million people, of whom 13% live below the poverty line of one dollar a day. Housing is a constant challenge. The tsunami in 2004, followed by an earthquake18 months later and the flooding a year afterwards have caused even bigger problems. The UN estimates that the country will need a number of 735,000 houses and that on a yearly base 420,000 houses need to be repaired. Therefore, your help with construction is literally a matter of life and death.
